A little about the fibers Around the Om's Dhurries are made of

Jute is a popular rug-making material, especially in India. The strong fibers of the East Indian Corchorus olitorius and C. capsularis are also used for making mats.

Chenille is a mixture of cotton and synthetic silk. This is an inexpensive choice to using silk and provides great durability. It also dyes beautifully with vivid colors.

Most area rugs, especially those made of natural fibers, can last a lifetime if they are properly maintained.
